“A noble purpose inspires Sacrifice, stimulates Innovision and encourages Perseverance” said Gary Hamel. Such a noble purpose and a unique idea has been embraked upon by Mr. Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, 3rd year B.tech Student, Secreatary of Idea and Innovation cell, VSSUT Burla. He pioneered this unique idea to bring about a revolution in the ticketing system for Indian Railway by innovating Railway ticketing and fine collection system.
He brought about this revolution in the ticketing system with the support of Quick Response coding- a unique code will be generated and imprinted on the fine collection receipt by scanning the QR code which will be redirected to a webpage, through an android application by the ticket collector in the Indian Railway.
After logging with their accreditations and having entered the details about the fine, the system will show the exact fine which they have to collect from the passenger and the receipt will be displayed. After which an offline copy of the receipt can be made and given to the passenger with same QR code. If the passenger is eagerous to know the details of his payment they can scan the details, and get each and every bit of details of their payment. On finding any irregularity in the charged fine, it can be reported on the portal which will be escalated to higher officials in the railway fine collection department.
“ I have proposed the idea to PM Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu. And I am likely to be invited to the railway Innovation Festival, which is being held in November 2016. I am looking forward to represent my idea to the Railway Panelists.” mentioned Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya. With the implementation of his innovation practically in Indian Railways, he wants to eradicate the concept of bribe so that the people could pay the exact money amount and get a confirmed seat.
